Cap 1-3.5 cm; stalk central, 2-6 cm long x 1-4 mm diameter not including spongy base.

Basidiospores 6-10 x 3.5-4 µm, elliptical, smooth, hyaline, inamyloid.

Diagnostic macroscopic feature

Small mushroom on woody debris, with reddish brown stalk that is covered with a thick mat of hair towards the base, and KOH turns the cap or stem green to black instantly
